Real Tokyo, restyled
Every street, block and station comes from PLATEAU, the Japanese government's open 3D model of Tokyo, then rebuilt as 1985.
● REC IN DEVELOPMENT

One cop. No backup. Tokyo, 1985.
A cassette-punk game set in a living Tokyo of 1985, built street by street from Japan's own 3D city data. Walk it, ride its subway, take its lifts and its cars, at any hour, in any weather.

Every street, block and station comes from PLATEAU, the Japanese government's open 3D model of Tokyo, then rebuilt as 1985.

A full day and night clock, rain that pools in the gutters, neon that comes on at dusk.

Ride the subway between real stations, on a timetable. Take a seat or hold a strap.

Call a lift, pick a floor, walk into izakaya, konbini and pachinko parlours.

No recordings: rain, trains, crowds and city hum are all generated.
The city is not drawn by hand. It is built by code from PLATEAU, the Japanese government's open 3D model of Tokyo, with real shop data for every building and a laser scan for the rooftops and trees. Street widths stay true so it walks like the real place; then everything is restyled to a 1985 that never quite happened: cassette decks, neon, CRTs, rain.
The game is a work of fiction. Real places built after 1985 are kept and restyled.
